Having trouble with Helm? Here are solutions to the most common issues users encounter.

Login and account issues

I can’t sign in

If you’re using email and password, try resetting your password from the sign-in page. If you sign in with Google, make sure you’re using the same Google account you originally signed up with. Still stuck? Contact support with the email address on your account.

I’m not receiving the verification email

Check your spam or junk folder. If it’s not there, try requesting the verification email again from your account settings. Verification emails expire after 24 hours.

Notification problems

I’m not receiving email notifications

Check your notification preferences in Settings → Notifications to make sure email notifications are enabled for the types you expect. Also check your spam folder — you can add Helm’s notification address to your contacts to prevent filtering. If you’re on the Free plan, you may have reached your monthly notification limit. Check your usage in Settings → Usage. See the Notifications guide for more on how notifications work.

Calendar sync issues

Calendar shows me as busy when I’m free

Check which calendars you connected to Helm. You might have an event on an old calendar you don’t actively use. Review your calendar selection in account settings and remove any calendars with outdated events. If you want to be available during a specific calendar event, mark that event as “Free” or “Show as available” in Google Calendar. See the Google Calendar integration guide for more calendar troubleshooting.

Accepted assignments aren’t appearing on my calendar

Helm adds events to your default Google Calendar. Check which calendar is set as default in your Google Calendar settings—you might be looking at the wrong calendar. If you still don’t see events after confirming the right calendar, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account from Helm settings. See the Google Calendar integration guide for more details.

Bókun sync issues

Bókun bookings aren’t appearing in Helm

Confirm the booking exists in Bókun and is in confirmed status. If the booking is recent, wait 5 minutes for the sync to complete. If it still doesn’t appear, make a small edit to the booking in Bókun (even just adding a note) and save. This triggers a fresh sync notification to Helm. See the Bókun integration guide for more booking sync troubleshooting.

Bókun updates aren’t syncing

Check that your Bókun integration is still connected in Helm settings. If you made changes in Bókun recently, allow a few minutes for updates to process. For bookings older than 10 minutes with missing updates, contact support with the booking reference from both systems. See the Bókun integration guide for more details.

Permission errors

I can’t access a setting or feature

Your access depends on your role in the organization. Owners have full access including billing. Admins can manage most settings except billing. Members can work with bookings and assignments but can’t change organization settings. Ask an Owner or Admin to check your role in Settings → Team.
